Open Your Eyes

"Elisha answered, "Do not be afraid. Our side outnumbers theirs." Then he prayed, "O LORD, open his eyes, that he may see." And the LORD opened the eyes of the servant, and he saw that the mountainside was filled with fiery chariots and horses around Elisha." - 2 Kings 6: 16-17

In this Old Testament story, a huge army was ready to come down on the prophet Elisha, and his servant was absolutely terrified! The servant went running to him in a panic, but Elisha answered calmly that their side outnumbered that army. "WHAT army?!!!!!" this servant mostly likely thought, and so Elisha prayed his eyes would be opened.

Here's the kicker, each of us is surrounded by that same power all of the time, but our eyes are closed. We go through life feeling alone, blind to the fact that God has His angels to protect us 24/7! If you don't see it or you don't feel it and go through life in a panic like Elisha's servant, please pray to God that He opens your eyes to that mighty protection He's set up for you.

Today's Prayer:
Father, close my eyes to all of my doubts and feelings of loneliness, but open them to Your power and majesty. Show me how You guide and protect me when I need it the most. In Jesus' Name we pray, amen.
