Don't Like Someone?

"For our struggle is not against flesh and blood, but against the rulers, against the authorities, against the powers of this dark world and against the spiritual forces of evil in the heavenly realms." - Ephesians 6:12

We know Jesus teaches us to love our neighbors, and we try to be good Christians, but if we're honest, that goes out the window the second someone you don't like comes through the door. For some reason we zero in on that person as the enemy. And it's crazy that we probably never stop to consider that God loves them, too!

Here is where Paul breaks it down to us in his letter to the Ephesians,... Our struggles and problems aren't caused by those people, they are caused by the enemy. It's the devil that gets involved and stirs up those ill feelings in our hearts and in the hearts of others. Think about this, have you ever become friends with someone you really didn't like before? Haven't they become a blessing in your life? Usually when the enemy puts these kinds of feelings in your heart it's because he is trying to keep you away from blessings God is going to give you through that person, or it's the other way around. Therefore, the next time this happens to you, humble yourself and turn to God and reach out to that person. Never let the enemy stop blessings from happening!

Today's Prayer:
Jesus, thank You for reminding me that You love all of Your children equally and that the enemy is trying to destroy that. Help me to always resort to you in prayer when bad feelings come into my heart about someone else. Teach me to love all as You do. In Your Name we pray, amen.
