"So be perfect, just as your heavenly Father is perfect." - Matthew 5:48
If you want to remain humble, read the bible daily. Jesus is sure to give us a good talking to! Today was a little rough. I'm sick. My job involves talking to a lot of people who can easily get under my skin. My kids were all over the place from the second I got home, and instead of crawling into some PJ's like I so desperately wanted, I had to go to work at a function for my son's school. My fuse was getting shorter and shorter as the day went on.
It's the easy way out to snap or be less than cordial with others, especially with family, when we're tired. We even feel like we are entitled to be like that after a long day and that others should know better and leave us alone, but that's wrong. I was feeling all of these things until I got home, opened my bible and Jesus' words put me in my place. My heart sinks and I realize all the work that has to be done in me. We will never be perfect and Jesus doesn't want that. What He wants is for us to always try to be, to always remember how good He is and how we have to model our hearts after His.
Today's Prayer:
Father, I am sorry for letting the day's events get to me. I am sorry for choosing to not respond with love when my patience is tested. Thank You for opening my eyes and redirecting my heart to where You want it to be. In Jesus' Name we pray, amen.
