Talk It Out

For where two or three are gathered together in my name, there am I in the midst of them. - Matthew 18:20

There's nothing like gathering with your friends to talk about something interesting. I see my husband and his friends talking about baseball. My brothers are into working out so their conversations are always about weights, protein, and muscles. When you're excited you talk about what excites you with your friends, and that in turn makes you even more excited.

Well, if your faith has hit a bit of a dry patch and you're praying and going to church, and you still aren't feeling it, maybe you should try to find people to speak about God with. It might not seem as fun as talking about baseball right now, but God is tied into every area of our lives,… our futures, our families, our friends, etc. are all areas in which we'd like God's intervention. Sit with some friends and talk about your relationship with God and how it affects a certain area in your life. Discuss a powerful bible verse and get into what you think it means for you. Be honest and even open up about any hang ups you're having in your walk with God. Your friend might help shed some light on your issues for you. Most importantly, pray together because there you'll find encouragement and you can both strengthen each other's faith. Never forget Jesus' words that where two or more are gathered in His Name He is there… so in a casual conversation over coffee or some pizza, Jesus is there with you, listening to you, building you, guiding you, and strengthening you.

Today's Prayer:
Lord, help me to be more bold and take my faith outside of just my room and out of Sundays. Help me to be able to speak about my faith to others so we can grow together over You. Put people in my path to share You with. In Your Name we pray, amen.
