Not as man sees does God see, because man sees the appearance but the LORD looks into the heart. - 1st Samuel 16:7
The story of how God anointed David to be King of Israel is pretty cool. The prophet Samuel goes to Jesse's house because he knows God is going to choose one of his sons, but God doesn't go with the son Samuel expected. Jesse's sons were big, strong guys, but God ended up picking the littlest one to be King of Israel. Samuel was sure God was going to go with the oldest until He answered him with the bible verse mentioned above.
A lot of times we want things and we hope for things, but end up feeling defeated because we might think we're not good enough. We might even feel we're always getting overlooked. There seem to always be other people who get the things we wanted for ourselves. Just because they are moving forward with their dreams, doesn't mean God doesn't have His plans for us as well. We can't let in securities about our abilities get in the way. When Samuel went to anoint a King, David was out in the fields, not even in the same room and God made sure he received his blessings. God won't forget about you. He knows your worth and your heart. You might have been overlooked by others, but it was God who created you for great things and He will make sure you also get your blessing.
Today's Prayer:
Father, You know what my heart wants, please don't forget me. I know that I might not be the smartest, or most talented, but You know I try. Give me Your hand in all that I do. In Jesus' Name we pray, amen.
