"I consider that the sufferings of this present time are as nothing compared with the glory to be revealed for us." - Romans 8:18
One definition of "integrity" is "the state of being whole." I think there is a lack of integrity between the way we live our lives and the faith we claim we have. There is a separation. We're not whole in the way Jesus wants us to be, and we need to be made whole in order to receive what He has in store for us. I know many of us are suffering… I know we are going through illnesses, financial issues, emotional distresses, relationship problems, and we feel like we can't go on. If we're not the ones experiencing these problems, we know people who are and we hurt for them.
But it's time to be made whole. Jesus is calling you to unite all the areas of your life and have your faith determine your attitude, not the other way around. Do you believe in God? Act like it! Lift up your head and your tired body and walk around showing off who you really are, a child of God! Let there be no division between what your faith tells you and how you live your life! Do you believe in God? Show you believe it! Put a smile on your face for God's promises are true and whatever hardships you're going through now are nothing compared to the blessings He is preparing for those who hold on to Him. Don't pray, but act afraid. Don't ask for prayer, but cry and complain. If you do not seek to be made whole, you will never give your faith a chance to pull yourself up from your struggle and save you. You will never get to experience all the beautiful things God has in store for you.
Today's Prayer:
Jesus, make me whole. I act one way in Church on Sundays, but act another way when I'm depressed. Help me to always remain positive and strong in my faith for You. Help me to always live in expectancy of Your blessings. In Your Name we pray, amen.
