Speak Up

"Brothers, if any one of you strays far away from the truth and another person brings him back to it, be sure of this: he who brings back a sinner from the wrong way will save his soul from death and win forgiveness for many sins." - James 5:19-20

Since Jesus no longer physically walks with us here are earth, He relies on His people to be His arms, legs, eyes, hands, and mouths. If we let Him, each one of us has the capacity to let Jesus work through us to help others. A lot of times we may see someone who has strayed or needs guidance in their life and we think, "wow, I wish someone could help them," but that someone may very well be you. We could, of course, pray for God to help that person, but it could be that God has chosen you to be the voice of reason that individual needs. This is the way God works… He moves people to impact the lives of others. I know that this is met with resistance because most times we don't want to interfere with people's way of life, but by not guiding a lost person, you could be causing them more harm and you will be held responsible if you do not help. But if and when you step in, and you act in the place of God and speak to a person in need, the Lord will work through you to save them. You will be Jesus for this person and bring them back to God. And for this, the Lord will bless you. For this, the Lord will forgive a multitude of your sins, because by bringing a lost person home to God, you allowed the love, mercy, and forgiveness of the Almighty to work through you and save His people. With one soul, you win the Kingdom of Heaven.

Today's Prayer:
Lord, give me the courage to do what I feel in my heart is right. Give me the courage to speak up and say what You have put in my heart to say. Send Your Holy Spirit upon me to guide Your lost sheep back to You. In Your Name we pray, amen.
