Lost & Found

"The Son of Man has come to seek and to save the lost." - Luke 19:10

The bible says that finding God is like finding a hidden treasure. We, the lucky ones, who know that there is so much to prayer and to holding on to God are sometimes brushed off for our beliefs by those who just don't understand this treasure we've uncovered. It can be hard when people call us out on our faith, but it's even worse when those we pray for the most - our friends, our family, even husbands/ wives, girlfriends/ boyfriends - are the ones who belittle our faith. It's also harder to swallow when we know how much they need God and how little importance they give to prayer.

It's easy to get frustrated and lose hope, but God wants to remind us that those people who we think are a lost case, are more important to Him than they are to us. God loves them. God has created them and has a plan for them. Just as our time arrived to know the Lord, so will their time come. Jesus said publicly that He did not come for the righteous, but for the sinners. The Son of Man has come to seek and save the lost. No longer do you and I need to beat our loved ones over the head with a bible and pressure them into going to church - Jesus will seek them, Jesus will save them when it is their time. He will do this because He loved them first, before we ever wanted them to know Him. The wait can be long and just when things are getting better they can get a lot worse, but you who already believe in the power of God, wait for His promise and without ceasing present your loved one to the Lord. What the Lord has promised, He will never take back: Jesus Christ has come to seek and save the lost.

Today's Prayer:
Father, You sent Your son into the world to seek and save the worst sinners and those who are most in need of Your unending mercy. You know our needs and the needs of Your lost children, and we know that nothing is impossible for You. We ask that You bring into Your arms those that suffer from drug abuse, alcoholism, criminal tendencies, depression, and many other illnesses and many other vices and wounds. Show them the light that leads to You. In Jesus' Name we pray, amen.
