In Need of Inspiration

"In everything resort to prayer and supplication together with thanksgiving and bring your requests before God. Then the peace of God, which surpasses all understanding, will keep your hearts and minds in Christ Jesus." - Philippians 4:6-7

Do you feel tired or uninspired? If you do, how has your prayer life been lately? You might not realize it, but how energetic, positive, and productive you are is a direct response to the amount of time you spend praying. Union with God through prayer is what refreshes your interior person, equipping you to go out and lead a healthy and busy life. When you're filled with God on the inside, it spills out and affects every area of your life, for the better. But when you don't take the time to refresh yourself in God, all this gunk starts to build up. Anger, resentment, sadness, doubt, confusion… these are all things that clog you up inside and opaque your vision of God. The more you pray, the clearer your soul becomes and the more positive your outlook and disposition in life. The word "enthusiasm" actually stems from a Greek word meaning "in God" so you'll be doing what people have always done to find hope and inspiration, going back to its source in our Almighty God.

Today's Prayer:
God, You are never far when we call. Although we've stayed away for a while, let us be refreshed in You as we come into Your holy presence. Keep on transforming us into a clearer image of Your son. In Jesus' Name we pray, amen.
