God, The Provider

"It is in vain that you rise early and stay up late, putting off your rest, toiling for your hard-earned bread; for He provides for His loved ones even when they are asleep." - Psalm 127:2

While this psalm is aimed at people who do nothing but work and don't dedicate time to their families in order to stock up more and more riches, I find comfort in that at the end of the day, God is the one true provider. Things really are so expensive and I know that many of us spend a lot of time worrying about how we're going to pay the bills and be able to afford other things we need in life as well. If God is our Creator, He is also our provider and like in all areas of our lives, we need to activate our faith in order to let Him work. Jesus tells us in the gospel to not worry about what we are to eat or what we are to wear because our Heavenly Father knows we need them and He will provide. This psalm takes it further by saying that for those who believe and trust in God, He provides for them even as they sleep. No amount of work on your behalf alone can do you any good unless you're asking God to help you.

This isn't just wishful thinking, but the true, living Word of God telling you to trust in Him and He will provide. Put away your fears and let go. The more you trust in Him, the bigger the results you will see.

Today's Prayer:
My God, I put all my needs before You. Please bless my finances and be my provider. You provide for Your faithful as they sleep, and today, I hold on to that promise. In Jesus' Name we pray, amen.
