For Your Good

"We know that all things work for good for those who love God." - Romans 8:28

 

I would like to apologize for not being consistent lately with these messages.  As some of you know, I'm in the Dominican Republic on vacation and have also had some computer issues, but the work of the Lord can never be stopped, so let's get to it...

 

If anyone would like to really dedicate themselves to working for God, the best place to do so is here in DR.  Everyday I see so many poor and sick people that my list of prayer intentions has kept on getting bigger and bigger.  I go to prayer groups and hear about horrible cases of people with AIDS, Cancer, etc, looking for the Lord and, for a second, I can't help but get depressed because I can't imagine having to deal with situations like these.  But my sadness only really does last for a second because Romans 8:28 always springs up to my head to remind me of the Lord's goodness: We know that all things work for good for those who love God.  If we keep this promise in our heads, nothing can ever be difficult again.  Every problem can come to us and as strongly as we believe in God, we should believe in His promises.  Any sickness, depression, financial downturn that can come our way is nothing compared to the good that God will work through it for us, if we keep our trust in Him.  Just today I heard about a man sick with full blown AIDS.  He went to a prayer group and in the Name of the Lord he was healed.  He could have fallen into desperation, but he looked for God, keeping His confidence in Him, and now he gives glory to God by telling others about what God has done for Him.  Therefore, if you say you have faith in God, don't go around with an attitude of defeat.  Don't go around angry and upset over situations that come your way.  Believe in these words and know with all of your heart that what you're facing today God will turn into a blessing for you.  Remember He won't let anything harm you and in everything is working for your best interest.

 

Today's Prayer:

Lord Jesus, You are the giver of life.  It's hard for me to be still when problems and difficulties come my way, but I want to take Your words into my heart and trust in You.  If You say that all things work for the good of those who love You, I will believe You and trust.  In Your Name we pray, amen.
