Bringing God to Others

"Mary then set out for a town in the Hills of Judah. She entered the house of Zechariah and greeted Elizabeth. When Elizabeth heard Mary's greeting, the baby leapt in her womb. Elizabeth was filled with holy spirit, and giving a loud cry, said, 'You are most blessed among women and blessed is the fruit of your womb! How is it that the mother of my Lord comes to me? The moment your greeting sounded in my ears, the baby within me suddenly leapt for joy.'" - Luke 1:39-44

I've had moments in prayer when the Lord nudges at me to talk to someone about Him. He'll let me feel that person needs Him and I should approach them about God. Of course, I immediately think I'm nuts and brush it off, but God keeps nudging. But when I finally go up to the person and give them the message about the Lord, to my amazement, I hear back how much it means to them and how they really needed to hear it. What causes this is the work of the Holy Spirit. The Lord uses us to reach out to His people to help them grow on the journey and pick them up when they're down.

This is what Mary did with Elizabeth. Impelled by the Holy Spirit, she took the trip out to Judah to meet her and be with her. Immediately upon hearing Mary's voice, the baby within her, John the Baptist, felt the presence of God and leapt for joy. No explanation was needed but Elizabeth and the baby felt instantly that Mary had brought the Lord to them. We have the ability to do this today. Spend time praying and ask God who you can bring Him to today. There has to be someone around you, someone you meet on the street that needs the encouragement and the touch from God today. The Spirit of God dwells within you and you have the ability to touch lives! Take the Blessed Mother as an example, and with the grace of God, bring the love of Jesus Christ to those you meet. You'll be amazed at how God can use you to change the lives of those around you!

Today's Prayer:
Lord Jesus, You use us as Your instruments to do Your will. Use me for Your purposes and lead me to help those around me who need Your strength and encouragement. Let me be a vessel that carries Your love to others. In Your Name we pray, amen.
