He Sees Your Heart

"Yahweh does not judge as a man judges; humans see with the eyes; Yahweh sees the heart." - 1st Samuel 16:7

God sent Samuel to search for a new king for Israel in the town of Bethlehem. Samuel arrived at a man named Jesse's house where he would choose the new king from among his sons. His sons were tall and handsome, but whenever he was going to choose one, God would tell him no. Finally, there were no sons left in the house to choose from until Samuel learned there was one more outside in the fields, a small, young boy named David. This boy was the great king God had chosen to exalt. God didn't look at his age, size, or power, but He rejected all others to give David the throne.

We're probably not going to be kings or queens in our lifetime, but there are sure things we want to accomplish that are too big for us to shoot for. Oftentimes we let people or our own minds tell us we can't achieve something and that we're not good enough. Cast aside these thoughts and know that God has great things for you. He knows you. He knows what you're capable of, things other people don't see. If you put yourself in His hands, He will exalt you, even if you're not the most qualified person for a job or position. Just like God made a young boy King of Israel, He can pick you up and raise you higher because the beauty of your heart is known to Him alone.

Today's Prayer:
Lord Jesus, help me to believe in myself. Give me confidence and increase my faith so that I can trust in You to take me further in my life. In Your Name we pray, amen.
