"Commit your work to The Lord and your plans will be established." - Proverbs 16:3
I have had my goals for 2014 written out on paper for over a month already. Children of God cannot stay in the same place. We must move forward and moving forward takes active planning. In the parable of the talents, Jesus speaks of servants who were entrusted with talents (or money) by their master. Some of them put their talents to work and were awarded with more, but the one who did nothing with them was punished. So, right now, you have to ask yourself if you are going to work with the talents God has given you in the New Year and write down what you will accomplish and how you will accomplish it, or if you are going to stay complacent.
Before and after you write your goals, the most important part is to offer them to God. Pray about them. Ask Him for wisdom so that everything you set your heart on is for your good and His glory so that your success is not only here on Earth, but for Heaven as well. Fulfillment will come to your life when you are on the same page as God about where you are going. And once the plans align, it is God that will open all of those doors for your future, but you have to take the first step.
Today's Prayer:
Father in Heaven, I offer to You all of my heart's desires for me and my family. Please give me the wisdom to make plans for where I should be as long as it's in accordance with Your will. I give all of these plans to You so that You can help me achieve them all. In Jesus' Name we pray, amen.
