Worship Him Without Fear

"This was the oath He swore to our father Abraham: to set us free from the hands of our enemies, free to worship Him without fear, holy and righteous in His sight all the days of our life." - Luke 1:73-75

I feel this pressure on my chest, this burden because for the last few months all I sense from our culture and society is a lashing out against all I believe. What I believe in the most, the morals that I uphold, are going out the window and it feels like I'll be thought of as ridiculous or stuck in the middle ages if I stand up for what I know is Truth. Just from scanning the news I see stories from California to Miami that make me realize that we're in a time when the popular tide has turned against us, very much against us. And, I'll be honest, I know that we're all human and we all have our downfalls. I know that God created each of us an individuals and He makes no mistakes in how He fashions us… but through the passing of the ages, one thing has remained the same, and that's the law God has put into our hearts that tells us, without us having to hear it from anyone else, what is right and what is wrong. What is good and what is evil. It is one thing to blur and bend what you think is right in order to suit your own needs and wants, but don't ever make the mistake of allowing yourself to believe that just because it feels good or it feels right, that it actually is because that is the lie… no lies reside in God. If you're still and try to listen to the voice of God, you should know where He stands. I have my sins and my weaknesses, but I acknowledge that I am a sinner and am in great need of God's mercy, but never will I, EVER, question whether my God should be the one to change because my sin suits me and it feels right.

What we're facing right now in society is a nation of people who are doing just that… forgetting their innate moral compasses to follow what feels right to them, and ridiculing those who listen to and follow the still, small voice of our Lord Jesus Christ. But I will not be silenced because my God has promised me that I will be able to worship Him without fear, even if everyone around me goes against me or thinks I need to catch up with 2009… Jesus Christ is the same yesterday, today, and always.

Today's Prayer:
Father, have mercy on me and all Your people. Defend us against the enemy and all of His attacks. Help us to put on the armour of faith to be able to serve You without fear and be that beacon of light that still speaks of Your Word to this generation. In Jesus' Name we pray, amen.
