But What If…

"Courage! I have overcome the world." - John 16:33

If you're like me then you worry a lot! There are the big things to worry about… what if I lose my job? What if tragedy hits my family? And then there are the day-to-day worries that bother us as well… what if I don't find parking and I'm late to work? What if I don't meet this deadline? We can bog our minds down with so many things that might not even happen. That's why this verse is such a breathe of fresh air, such a confidence booster… "COURAGE!" Jesus says… as in, pick yourself up… "I have overcome the world"… or, I have taken care of everything for you. And the interesting thing about the moment when Jesus says this to His apostles is that He said this the night before He was going to die, in other words, He should have been the one who was worried and stressed, but being that our Lord is so confident in His work and His love for us, He wants us to feel His strength no matter what we face. If He faced His death, then we can face our day-to-day, or week-to-week, and even month-to-month struggles with the same confidence and faith! He gives us this confidence and faith so if it can uphold us in the face of death, it can uphold us through struggle, sickness, and troubles.

It's all under His control…breathe it in and tell yourself to have courage and believe in His promises!

Today's Prayer:
Lord Jesus, I believe in You… I believe in Your promises and I will face struggles in faith because You have led me through. Allow me to never lose sight of You. In Your Name we pray, amen.
