"I can do all things in Him who strengthens me." - Phillippians 4:13
In a lot of ways I'm like my father. He's always had a desire to learn more, especially in theology, which led him to become a deacon. Like him, I'm following a similar track enrolling myself in grad school for a Master's Degree and to the Pastoral Formation Institute. Sometimes I'm incredibly busy and wonder how I'm going to manage balancing so many things, but then I remember who my father is and if he's been able to accomplish so much, so can I.
As great as my father is, sometimes I need more help than just confidence in him. I need a bigger power. And if you didn't grow up with a great father figure, that's ok because in reality we are all children of the Father Almighty, and it's from this Father that we can draw all our strength. Sometimes things get really hard and we don't see a way out or think we can't manage, but we can because we know who our Father is! We are His children, His heirs, and because of that we have a right to the blessings and gifts our Father wants to give us. That includes the strength and determination to overcome anything that comes our way… why? Because of who our Father is! We know that we can always go home to our parents' house when we need help, in the same way be confident of what belongs to you under your Father in Heaven. Be confident and never afraid to ask anything of your Father.
Today's Prayer:
Father, thank You for having me as Your child. Thank You for the special love and attention You provide for each and everyone one of Your children. Give us always the confidence to approach You in trust. In Your Name we pray, amen.
