Fwd:

"Take care of yourself and attend to your teaching. Be steadfast in doing this and you will save both yourself and your hearers." - 1st Timothy 4:16

From time to time I get these email forwards from people about God, saying how much God loves me and how many blessings I'll receive if I forward it along to 15 more people. I find that people are really quick to forward those along because at the end of the day, we all realize we need God and because it seems like the right thing to do. But most of the time, I really, really wish those feelings of blessings and prayers and loving God wouldn't stay in an email. I wish those feelings weren't only contained in words. I wish that with the same energy that the early church built up our great faith, by word and action, by remaining faithful to those words and actions, all of us could spread the faith. I think that any reminder during the course of the day, even an email forward is great, but let's be more creative than that! Jokes and other small stories can be forwarded in an email from person to person, but our God is much bigger than that and our faith needs to be shown offline as much as online. The next time you forward on an email, please make sure you also get out there and speak or show your faith in the real world.

Today's Prayer:
Father in Heaven, make me bold enough to live my faith not only in words, but in actions as well. Help me to proclaim your Kingdom with my entire life, not just during some moments. In Jesus' Name we pray, amen.
