Strive

"Therefore, brothers and sisters, strive more and more to respond to the call of God who chose you. If you do so, you will never stumble." - 2nd Peter 1:10

Sometimes it's easy to follow God. We feel close to Him, we hear His call and we follow. But by now we should know that the best things in life, the most important things, do not come easily. If at any point in your life, you have felt close to God, then you have been chosen and called by Him, and that is an amazing honor.

I know that sometimes it gets tough to find the time to pray. Sometimes we're running on empty and it's hard to fit Him into our lives, but we have to keep on trying, striving as Peter tells us. This means learning to look at our time as being given by Him, so that He gives us time to connect, not the other way around. We also have to learn to look at ourselves as created by Him, so that we ask Him what He needs first before we tell Him what we need. This also means developing more humility before God, so that no matter what, we always recognize we need Him. Getting to the point where we lose sight of our place before God is one of the worst things we could ever do. If we keep on striving, the Lord will never allow us to fall, but you should do all you can to follow the Lord's will always.

Today's Prayer:
Father, show me the importance of humility each and every day. Remind me how I need to strive more and more each day to do Your will, especially when I am tired and running on empty. In Jesus' Name we pray, amen.
