Meet The Parents

My good friend, Gary Jansen, wrote an amazing book called "The Rosary: A Journey To The Beloved," which will be re-released in October. In an effort to explain the Catholic prayer to people who haven't prayed it in a long time, who don't understand it, or to Protestants who want to understand the Catholic point of view, Jansen explains that at heart, the Rosary is meditation on the birth, life, death, and resurrection of our Lord Jesus Christ, through the eyes of the woman who knows Him best, His mom.

He tells us to imagine falling in love with someone and wanting to know more and more about them. Then, one day, we meet their mother and she sits us down and recounts our beloved's life through her many photo albums, full of pictures of her child. This, according to Jansen, is the Rosary.

Bishop William Murphy of Rockville Centre on Long Island recently gave Jansen's book a shout-out and I wanted to share it all with you:

Enjoy!

Gary, congratulations!
