"You are not of the world since I have chosen you from the world." - John 15:19
It was one night last summer that I realized I wasn't the same anymore. I was out with a group of friends but I was the outsider. It was like I was a different person, and there was nothing wrong with them, but it was like I was looking at the world with a different pair of eyes. Jesus said that we are in the world, but not of the world. This means that when Jesus touches you, all of a sudden you begin to realize that God has called you for something different. The things of this world… going out, clothes, cars, they start to not matter and instead of looking for more things to gain, your mindset becomes, "what does God want of me and how can I become a better person for Him?"
It's hard for others to understand that. They are still of the world, while you only live in it. Don't be scared or feel like an outcast when this happens to you. You are being called by Jesus Himself. He is hand-selecting you to serve Him and be with Him. Pay attention when you begin to feel differently and be careful that you don't turn your back on this call. There is no higher calling than to be chosen by the Lord to do His work.
Today's Prayer:
Jesus, I thank You for calling me out of the world. I ask that You guide me while I still live in it because it's hard to live in the world but not belong to it… I belong to You. Please open the eyes of those who don't see that their true home is with You and not here. In Your Name we pray, amen.
