"Receive the Word of God, not as the word of men, but as it truly is, the Word of God." - 1st Thessalonians 2:13
Have you ever opened the bible in a time of need and ended up randomly reading something that felt like it popped out of the page because it spoke to you in such a deep and personal way? This has happened to me on several occasions and I can tell you it's never a coincidence. The bible is the Word of God. They are words inspired in the hearts of man by God and since He is their author, He makes it so they live forever. In the same way they inspired people of the ancient world, they can speak directly to us today. We all complain about how God doesn't touch us, how God doesn't speak to us, but never deny His efforts until you take His living Word in your hands and meditate on what He has done. Realize the gift the Lord has left us in the bible and spend time today reading through it so you can listen to the many things God wants to tell you.
Today's Prayer:
Father, in Your love and compassion, You have given us Your Word to read and meditate on. Open my heart and mind to understanding it and incorporating it into my life. In Jesus' Name we pray, amen.
