"Jesus said, 'I am the way, the truth and the life; no one comes to the Father but through me." - John 14:6
The early Christians had it right - they were called followers of "the way" because in reality, if you're a Christian, there is a way you should live. Today, many people call themselves Christians but by watching their behavior, one would never guess it. How do they show their love? Their mercy? Their compassion? Where is their devotion to God? Being a Christian is never really in the words you speak but in the way you live your life. Jesus told His apostles very clearly, "I am the way, the truth and the life; no one comes to the Father but through me." Nowadays I hear of a lot of people who talk about a general sense of Spirituality and believe that is alone to save them, but Jesus couldn't have put it in a clearer way. Jesus alone is the way to the Father in Heaven and being on that one path, on that one way is the way to get there. Any other way and you're out of luck.
Today's Prayer:
Father, give me a love for Your Word and for Your commands. Teach me Your way, Lord, so that I may follow it always and teach others to do the same. In Jesus' Name we pray, amen.
