"Since she had heard about Jesus, this woman came up behind him and touched his cloak thinking, 'if I just touch his clothing, I shall get well.'" - Mark 5:27
The power of faith is an amazing thing. A woman who had been bleeding for years, who had seen all kinds of doctors without results, heard Jesus was passing by her town. She didn't want to meet Him. She didn't want Him to pray for her. All she wanted was to simply touch His cloak. She had so much faith in Him that she believed that if she just made the effort to reach Him, she would be healed. So great was her faith that not only was she healed, but Jesus immediately stopped and looked around at the crowds pressing around Him; He felt the healing power leave Him.
I can say I believe, you can say you believe… we know so many people who say they believe, but believing isn't enough sometimes. Where is your action? Where is your effort? This woman, as sick as she was, didn't care about the crowds, she was determined to get to Jesus. She didn't let anything stop her. When you say you believe and ask something of God, are you going as far as this woman did? She knew where to find Him, and so do you… do you go and look for Him? As followers of Christ, let's stop limiting ourselves to just believing and let's make the effort to go find Jesus and make sure His miracles transform our lives!
Today's Prayer:
Jesus, make me bold in Your Spirit. Give me strength and resolution to do Your will always. I need You to lift me up when I'm weak and help me get to where You are. In Your Name we pray, amen.
