"Be still, know that I am God." - Psalm 46:11
I don't usually pass on email forwards but today I passed one on. The email was about a meeting/ conference Satan had in hell in which he and the demons plotted about ways to keep us so busy that we don't have time for God. It struck me for two reasons: first of all, I'm 100% sure that the enemy really does gather all his minions together to plot ways to tangle us and keep us from God! Think about it, it's not a coincidence that we have time for sooo much but having even 5 minutes for God is difficult for us. And secondly, I can say God has spoken to me loudly and clearly, and each of those times, it has been when I am still, so still that if I hadn't been paying attention, I would have missed it.
This verse reminds me of when Elijah went up to the mountain to wait for God because God told him He would be passing by. Earthquakes, fires, and rough winds came by and each time Elijah was sure that God had arrived… it wasn't until everything was at peace that Elijah heard a still, small voice and covered his face because he knew he was in the presence of God. Too many times we go looking for the big stuff. Even in our daily lives we try to fill our schedules up with things trying to achieve something, but God isn't in those earthquakes and fires and winds we think we need to achieve in order to be someone. He is in that still, small voice that overcame Elijah when he was at peace. "Be still, know that I am God" means to take the time to be in His presence. You - be still -because the greatness you are trying to achieve in your life is going to be accomplished because HE is all-powerful and HE is almighty. You are only there to take in His grace and receive His love. But you can't do that if you're too busy. You can't do that if you're looking in the wrong places and you can't do that if you're not being still to listen.
Today's Prayer:
Father, You know I talk too much and I have too much going on. I don't give You the time I should because I hardly even have time for myself… but if I can only hear You in the quiet, then please give me the time to listen. Quiet my mind and my heart so that I can know that You are God. In Jesus' Name we pray, amen.

The devil if anything, uses chain letters, especially those disguised as religion, the main goal of forwards is always to get passed around and around, not to enrich one's life. That's just one of many angles used in chain letters. The one, sorry, it's not just one, but a whole mess of "no time for God" chains are very judgemental anyway, they enduce and feed on guilt, so that the reader will think "Oh my gosh, I better think about God, because the hell story or prayer/poem in this chain letter is so inspiring and so true, and I MUST send it to all my friends so they'll think about God and be saved!"
You can be busy as all getout and still take time for God, even a second and every second counts, no one needs chain letters telling them to take time for God, especially when that is just a manipulation to get us passing them along.
