Our Shield

"No weapon forged against you will succeed, and all who speak against you will be silenced. Such is the lot of the servants of the Lord, and such is the right I grant them - says the Lord." - Isaiah 54:17

We spend so much time worrying about the future, about all kinds of disasters that could happen, or at least I do. What if I get into a bad car accident? What if someone tries to break into the house? All of these things pop into our heads and cause us real concern. But the peace of the Lord is being at total rest from all of this. God promises us that if we follow Him, nothing formed against us will succeed. That car accident will be avoided and those thieves won't be able to break in. Even those who talk about us negatively will be silenced because that's what God does for those who serve Him. Being under the protection of God is a total shield from all evil and harm, and even if harm does come to us, God turns it around so that it's actually for our good. He did this with Joseph in the book of Genesis when his brothers sold him into slavery. God built Joseph up and made him second in command next to Pharoah. God is capable of amazing things for those who love Him.

With so many horrible things going on in the world, let's make sure our only hope is in God, who is our rock of comfort and protection.

Today's Prayer:
Lord, ease my worries and let me remember that You are my shield; those who trust in You will never see harm. Let me live confidently from now on, secure in Your Word. In Jesus' Name we pray, amen.
