"Will God not do justice for His chosen ones who cry to Him day and night even if He delays answering them? I tell you, He will speedily do them justice." - Luke 18:4-8
We've heard it all before - ask and you shall receive… but sometimes, we're more on the asking end than the receiving. It gets so frustrating to keep asking God for something and not see any results. It can really try our faith. Jesus, God made flesh, understood this desperation and told His disciples to not lose hope because God will definitely answer us, even if He does take a bit longer than hoped for. Being the great story-teller that He is, Jesus gave the example of an evil judge who had a poor widow bothering him day and night about a case. She complained so much that the judge decided to answer her plea just so she would shut up. I don't know about you, but I don't care how annoying God thinks I am, I'm going to keep on bothering Him! I told a friend recently that I was praying for him a lot and I compared it to tugging on Jesus' robe constantly… and this is exactly what we need to do! When you feel God isn't getting to what you're asking for, spiritually tug on His robe until He's got to pay attention to you! If the judge in Jesus' story, who was evil, listened to the widow, our God, who is good, will be moved by compassion to listen to you and act sooner on your behalf.
Today's Prayer:
Lord Jesus, I know that Your timing is better than mine, but sometimes I really need to know that You're working on my behalf. Please listen to me when I call. Please show me You are there for me. In Your Name we pray, amen.
