Follow the Light

"Yet Jesus had said, and even cried out, 'He who believes in me, believes not in me but in Him who sent me. And He who sees me, sees Him who sent me. I have come into the world as light, so that whoever believes in me may not remain in darkness.'" - John 12:44-46

I think that we're so used to religion and reading the bible, that we put no flavor or life into what we're listening to. What struck me immediately about this passage is the fact that Jesus cried out to these people and told them, full of passion, "He who sees me, sees Him who sent me. I have come into the world as light, so that whoever believes in me may not remain in darkness." Jesus didn't say this in the bland way the bible is read at church sometimes, but He said these words as an emotional cry from the core of His very being. The people He came to serve and save weren't paying attention. When we listen but don't let the words of God sink in, we're doing the same thing! You have to wake up and hear the cry of Jesus before you. It's so urgent to Him because we're just not getting it! He tells us so clearly who He is and what He wants to do for us, but He keeps on crying out because many turn a deaf ear to His message. We all need to understand that He came to save us, not condemn us with what He instructs. Don't walk in darkness anymore, but accept the light of the world that has come to illuminate your path.

Today's Prayer:
Lord Jesus, I hear You crying out and I am here to listen and accept the Father's will. I give You my heart so that You can enable me to show Your light to others. In Your Name we pray, amen.
