"So, then, anyone who hears these words of mine and acts accordingly is like a wise man, who built his house on rock. The rain poured, the rivers flooded, and the wind blew and struck that house, but it did not collapse because it was built on rock. But anyone who hears these words of mine and does not act accordingly, is like a fool who built his house on sand. The rain poured, the rivers flooded, and the wind blew and struck that house; it collapsed and the ruin was complete." - Matthew 7:24-27
This is something I have come to believe in so strongly, if you do not base your life and all you do on God, it will not turn out well for you. The wise man who built his house on the rock, not only weathered the storm, but I'm sure God protected him in all that he did and never let him be put to shame because he honored and respected his Name. But the fool relies on his own intelligence and strength, as if all things in life are able to be controlled by him. In both of these cases, the wind and the storms did come, the houses were struck hard, but only one survived, the one that was built on the rock that is God. You see, the things of this life have the ability to destroy us. If we get sick, if our relationship deteriorates, if we lose our jobs, those things hit us hard and knock us down, but when we have our faith placed firmly on God, those things that are meant for our harm, God uses them to bring blessings instead. This why all you do, you need to present to God. Each morning I wake up, I put myself in God's hands. Every problem I have I put into God's hands. My sadness I put into God's hands and my joys I put into His hands as well, even my rides back and forth on the Long Island Rail Road I give up to Him who protects me. I don't even start a new project at work without praying to Him about it and whenever I achieve something great, the glory is all His. So please, realize that the heart break, anger, hurt, frustrations and disappointments will come in life, but if you're going to go through them, honor your God and live accordingly because there are no better hands to be in. And your goals, dreams, and ambitions, present them to the Lord to see them realized.
Today's Prayer:
Lord Jesus, if I do not base my life on You, my rock, I know I will see it crumble around me. I recognize my error in thinking I could do things on my own, but today I want to put my present and my future in Your hands, so that You could guide me in all things. In Your Name we pray, Amen.
