That Which Seems Impossible

"But Jesus replied, 'They do not need to go away; you give them something to eat.' They answered, "We have nothing here but five loaves and two fishes.' Jesus said to them, 'Bring them here to me.'" - Matthew 14: 16-14

An enormous crowd had followed Jesus along the shore and the apostles were worried. So many people left their villages to go to Him to be healed and they had no food to give them. The apostles suggested to Jesus to send them away to get food but Jesus' response was for the apostles themselves to feed the multitudes. How could Jesus have been serious? He knew that there was no way the apostles could have fed even 20 people and the bible says there were 5000 people there not counting the women and children.

Sometimes God puts us in a hard place with no way out. It feels like He got us there and then abandoned us. We look at our own power and see that we are defeated because it feels like we are in an impossible situation. The Lord does this so that you understand that without Him, you are nothing. We become at times too sure of ourselves and forget that our existence depends on Him. Then we so easily forget that by strengthening our faith, we find our way out. The apostles were with God Himself and they wanted to send the people home, they had forgotten about the power of God and only thought about what they could do themselves! But when Jesus took the situation into His own hands, He made the impossible possible and the 5000 were fed with 12 baskets of fish and bread left over. When you let Jesus work out the impossible in your life, you go from having little to having so much more than you could have ever imagined possible!

Today's Prayer:
Lord Jesus, thank You for being so very good to me and turning impossibilities into possibilities. Don't ever let me forget that my strength comes from You. In Your Name we pray, Amen.
